From Imbolc through Beltane:
Honouring the Sacred Fire

Sìne McKenna returns to Minneapolis to offer a six-session Scots Gaelic song series to accompany us from Imbolc (Feb. 1st) to Beltane (May 1st). It will begin Tuesday, February 18 and ends Tuesday, April 29.

She will teach virtually and the group will meet in-person in south central Minneapolis (Powderhorn Park neighborhood – home).

The theme for this series is: Honouring the Sacred Fire. It is open to new and experienced community song and care practitioners alike. During the period from Imbolc to Beltane, we will practice together as a community, listen to and honor ancestral wisdom in order to touch life deeply in this present moment, through gathering, singing, and stories. We will hear the lyrical Gaelic language through traditional waulking (fulling) songs; songs of love and loss as well as blessings which honour the natural world. We will harness our collective energies which help us care for ourselves as well as attend to our lives and communities.

Location

The meeting location will be provided after paid registration. The doors will open 30 minutes before the scheduled start time and people are invited to remain 30 minutes afterwards to informally connect.

In addition to this virtual series, Sine will be in Minneapolis the week of May 11 and available for 1:1 consultations, workshops and song story circles. Details to follow.

Registration

Registration will be open until Feb 15 and limited to 15 people. People will be registered when you pay and you will receive a confirmation email with the exact meeting address. A waiting list will be started if there are more than 15 people who register and there must be 8 paying participants for the series to be held. Notice will be sent out on Monday, Feb 17 at 12pm central if the course did not get the minimum number of participants.
